How ShieldHub Works
ShieldHub starts when you invite the independent contractor to your trusted network. They will be prompted to purchase an FCRA compliant criminal background check from an accredited Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) partner.
The background data is analyzed and standardized to calculate the ShieldScoreSM (IC Score) that represents the associated background risk of the contractor.
Background Check Report
The contractor starts by purchasing an FCRA Compliant criminal background check from an accredited Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) partner.
Identity Verification
Validate the contractor’s identity and reduce fraud by leveraging AI to validate government document authenticity and verify contractor identity from a live selfie.
Calculate ShieldScore
The CRA adjudicates the report using ShieldHub’s proprietary standardization algorithms to create a composite ShieldScore (IC Score).
Assign ShieldID
ShieldHub provides an anonymized ShieldID (ABC#) that can be used to access the ShieldHub scored vendor profile.
Continous Monitoring
The subscription includes ShieldPulse continuous national database monitoring, that automatically updates the contractor’s ShieldScore in the event of a change.

Contractors share their unique ShieldID, allowing clients and customers to access their score via the ShieldHub portal.

The Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) adjudicates the report using ShieldHub’s proprietary standardization algorithms to create a composite ShieldScoreTM (IC Score) that communicates safety while keeping the details of your background check report private. ShieldScoreTM corresponds to one of five levels of compliance:
ShieldHub provides risk scoring standardization for the basis of the ShieldScore™ and is not responsible for the engagement acceptance criteria set by the Client’s Policies. ShieldScore™ considers both the severity and count of criminal convictions in the scope of the background check when determining a composite score. The visual matrix representation identifies thresholds for severity of criminal convictions, total of convictions allowable per level of scoring, is for informational purposes, and is not inclusive of every category or type of crime. IC01+ designation will be available to ShieldIDs issued or updated beginning April 2, 2024.

Continuous Monitoring
Ensure compliance through ongoing updates from the National criminal records database.
Felony & Misdemeanor County Search
County-level search for felonies and misdemeanors. Infractions and traffic violations are not included.
National Criminal Record File Search
This database includes the fugitive files and the government watch lists, sex offender registries, state & county criminal record repositories, state departments of corrections and administrative offices of the court.
Sex Offender Database Search
(State & National)
State-specific registry provides a search of information on sexual offenders who are required to register in the state in which they reside.
Global Sanction Search
This search covers both U.S. And foreign database sanctions including the office of foreign asset control, FBI most wanted list, terrorist exclusion list, denied parties and world debarred parties lists.
